Summing it all up.

We checked in at the HAMPTON INN & SUITES DOWNTOWN, at 200 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin, Texas, USA 78701, phone +1 512 472 1500.

To the left, leaving San Antonio for Gruene.

Before doing that, we stopped for some serious shopping at WalMart, the biggest, best and cheapest SuperStores in the US.

Martin outside Wal-Mart.

Martin playing up under the Wal-Mart sigh.

Inside the general store for Tanya's hat.

Here is Tanya's hat that Martin has to carry while travelling back to Norway since he cannot squash into his rucksack.

Outside the general store with the newly purchased hat.

The water tower of Gruene.

Time for some grubbin.

A grim Olaug studying the menu. Martin is looking on.

A smiling Olaug for a change. She is not so stern on this one.

A smiling waitress that served us well.

The poster saying it all. Worth the trouble to read it.

Martin enjoying a beer inside the Gruene Hall.

Martin and Helge, another Thailand lover.

The pissoir (urinal) is really bath tub size.

Martin and Elisabeth and the fancy bikes of the visititors.

Proud owner of his bike, Martinez.

Beer cup is must on these bikes.

Martin was very impressed. Here another view of the bike.

A fancy two-seater and the proud owner.

The city square of Gruene.

The oldest tree in town and Martin.

Arriving in Austin.

The Broken Spoke dance hall where we had some instruction in two step.

Here is the local dance instructor with a stern Olaug in the background.

Martin and another Elisabeth that had to meddle in the instructor's instructions.

The male instructor did his bit too.

Martin and Astrid on the floor.

Martin and a local waitress. Very cute she was.

Martin with a black Stetson hat from Texas. Not his.

Martin a local guy. Pitch dark he is.

The local girls came out in numbers.

The next day, Saturday 27th, it was time for visiting the FORT WORTH/STOCKYARDS .
