Summing it all up.

The highlight of the day was our visit to the Space Center Houston. It was impressive. And at night we had a dance at the Wild West Saloon. Great place.

To the left, the pool of the hotel, not very attractive and very cool.

Our busses lined up to take us to the Space Center.

Some nice flowers next to the hotel entrance.

On to the lovely highways of Houston. They have plenty.

Cars for sale. There are plenty of them, since the sales are low.

A beautiful curved overpass of the highway network in Houston.

More highways.

The training jets are part of the Houston Space Center.

The American and Mexican flag side by side. You see them all over the place.

Mary, our fast talking tourist guide giving us the run for our money.

At the space center proper.

The NASA symbol.

The security checks were just as boarding an airliner.

They had nice fields for Texan long horns on the premises.

Gutta boys, Martin, Steinar and Helge.

The hall where they have the Saturn V rocket, meant to be used on the Apollo 18 mission that never materialized due to financial constraints.

The entrance to mission control.

The mission control as it was during the Apollo missions.

Steinar posing in front of Mission Control.

Martin with the boys that landed on the moon for the first time.

We travelled on a train on wheels. Nice way to get around.

The mock up of the Saturn rockets, used for practice.

The robotic arm used on the Space Shuttle.

Martin on top of things.

The American, Mexican, Nasa and the Texan flag flying outside the center.

The business end of the rocket engine.

The end of the Saturn V rocket. The real thing from Apollo 18. There are two others from Apollo 19 and 20 situated in two other cities of the USA.

Martin at the business end of the Saturn V rocket.

The rocket nozzles themselves. Big stuff.

The bogie holding the rocket up.

Stage one.

Stage two.

Details of the stage two top.

The whole Saturn V from the top end. There is a short video(11MB) you can watch of this view.

The re-entry vehicle.

Another view of same.

The kiddies version of the exhibition.

The murky skyline of Houston, or at least one of them.

The Armadillo Palace for lunch. Nice, funny, Texan setup.

Tyson and Bill, two nice, friendly American.

Queuing up for snacks. It soon went empty.

Cherry, the fit, tough waitress of the Armadillo Palace. She was very well trained.

Martin's favorite Jack Links Teriyaki Beef Jerky. Lovely. And beers of course.

The Wild West Saloon for beers and an American dance.

At night, it was time to edit and format the pictures for the Internet.

The next day, Wednesday 24th , it was time to travel to SAN ANTONIO and check in at the EMILY MORGAN HOTEL on 705 East Houston Street, San Antonio, TX 78205 with phone +1 210 225 5100.
