Summing it all up.

We checked in at the EMILY MORGAN HOTEL in San Antonio after a 4 hour bus drive. But before getting there, we visited the Natural Bridge Caverns, deep down in the Hearth of Texas.

To the left, Martin with his new shirt showing the places we visited in the US.

Martin's favorite gas station where he bought his beers and favorite Jack Links Teriyaki Beef Jerky for the road.

Martin made a picture of his bag safely tucked away.

A green house in the outskirts of Houston.

Nice highway constructions. Martin loves them.

Beautiful, curved overpass.

The American flag and MacDonald's. Two in separate symbols ot the USA.

American with some decent suspenders. Martin lost his and want to buy a pair while in the USA.

The Carefree Inn chain.

Martin and Astrid with his favorite, the Jack Links Teriyaki Beef Jerky

At the Natural Bridge Caverns, deep down in the Hearth of Texas. Here is the air vent tower for the caves.

Down into the caves.

The entrance to the caves.

The Natural Bridge that gave the names to the caves is seen here.

Solid rock formation.

Drip stones are all over the place. It took some million years to make them. Roughly 50 years for each centimeter to grow.

Stalagmites are plentiful in the cave complex.

The bewitching interior of the caves.

Martin in the biggest hall of them all.

They are very impressive.

Purgatory Cave at the very bottom of the cave complex, some 64 meters below the surface.

A big pillar of dripstone is seen here.

They are really massive these dripstones. Guess how many years it takes to make one?

Our hotel in San Antonio, the EMILY MORGAN HOTEL, a nice, central hotel with a lousy breakfast according to Norwegian standards.

Our tour guide holding up the sign showing we are belonging to his group.

The twisted symbol of San Antonio in the center of the town.

The River Walk. Really nice set up.

The sight-seeing boats on the river.

Nice bridges.

And nice architecture.

More people entering the boats.

The bridges are plentiful along side the river walk.

Beautiful trees are all along the side of the river banks.

Martin at the helm of the boat he sat in.

Built in front of a new hotel.

An island in the middle of the river.

A small overflow in the river system that is heavily regulated to prevent floods.

The wedding island. A popular place to get married.

The skyline is actually very cute and nice.

Another fancy architectural building of which there are many of in this beautiful town.

A special bridge of the town.

More nice buildigns.

The five Tacho bells of San Antonio.

There are plenty of trees along the side of the river walk.

The octagonal building of San Antonio, finished 3 months before the financial meltdown in 1929.

Our friendly tour guide knew his job.

Full frontal left into the high-rise as prerequisite for getting a building permission.

Here seen from the side.

Another combo block of flats and offices.

Nice trees along the waterfront.

The boat is back.

Nice block of flats.

Nice clockwork.

Nice trees.

The oldest restaurant along the river walk.

The Marriott hotel in the middle of town.

A female boat driver. They know their way around.

Trip finished and the lot of us are on the way back. In total, we are 99 Norwegians.

Elisabeth, another trip participant on this tour. She did the tour in January 2009 as well.

The hat that Astrid wants to buy. Tanya didn't like it.

Our hotel at night.

Martin enjoying a beer with red stuff made of cherries.

Martin and Astrid enjoying a beer.

A fancy horse-drawn carriage in the streets of San Antonio.

The next day, Thursday 25th, it was time for visiting The Alamo, Texas' most visited tourist attraction.
