Wed Dec 20, shopping and pot koos

This was a day for Christmas shopping and a nice traditional South African meal, pot koos, which is food cooked in a big cast iron kettle, popular called a kaffir-pot.

To the left, a massive shopping center in Somerset West, called the Mall.

To the right, Martin's presents for his sisters Jorunn and Ellen in Norway.

Key cutter is making a present for Ina, an extra key for her little house at Knorhoek.

Heiderbraü, a German brewery and restaurant where Ina takes her guests from German speaking country.

Inside Heiderbraü, typical German style and run as family business by the owners.

Anton one of Ina's friend in the group and the evening's chef in charge of the pot koos.

Martin's babysitters for the first night in SA, Chris and Louise. Lovely couple.

Ina and Patricia, Anton's newly acquired wife from Pretoria.

The chef, Anton busy with the chicken for the pot.

Chris enjoying a grape or two. The grapes were from Upington area and had a lovely taste not usually associated with grapes.

Martin and Anton with the pot outside and Ina's house in the back.

Anton stirring the pot to check out how it's doing.

Anton giving his wife a nice Christmas hug.

The following day, Thursday Dec 21st, Martin left for Norway after meeting Johnny at the air-port for some gun business..
