Summing it all up.

Dec 18, back to Somerset West

This was the drive to complete the circle around South Africa. Martin is driving down to the Cape, some 850 km. After a stopover at the airport, he ended up at Ina's place, Knorhoek not far from where Martin stayed the first 6 days of his visit to SA.

To the left, the route map from Springbok to Somerset West Martin took. Shorter than appreciated, only 555 km that took Martin some 6 hours including stops.

To the right, goodbye Springbok for now. Most probably for many years.

Typical rocks outside Springbok. Water needed.

Al roads leads to Pofadder. This is an 600 km shortcut to the place.

In Pofadder, it was a turnoff to Bitterfontein and here is the town itself. Not much.

But it had a stadium.

In the horizon, it was a nice rock formation some 5 billion years old.

Clan Williams, Martin's favorite photo place. Always take a picture of this view.

More from Can Williams.

Growth industry in SA, cemeteries are cropping up all over the place. Here is one.

Next to the cemetery the residential area. Who's the biggest?

Just outside Citrusdal is this nice view. Another favorite photo ops Martin takes.

On to Cape Town, an ambulance was prodding along in 140 kms per hour..

Knorhoek, Ina's favorite place and hideaway when she want to get away from work.

The entrance with security.

This is also a secure complex with checking in and out of everyone that visits. Good.

The entrance to the complex and Ina's lawn.

Ina's little picturesque little hideaway, some 10 kms from her workplace.

Friendly Ina, she has a nice smile for everyone.

Martin on the rocks outside Ina's house.

Martin on Ina's veranda. Nice setup. Martin's head is too big for his hat, or is it the hat that is too small?

Ina off to work, rounding the corner out of the secure complex.

It's time for a shower and Martin's trusty companion takes a rest.

Ina busy making a lovely calorie low chicken dinner.

The following day, Tuesday Dec 19th, Martin loafed around, sun tanning, working on the computer and helping Ina before they went out and had a nice dinner at The Lobster Tavern at Gordon's Bay. Elsabe chickened out, as usual.
