Our first full day in Bangkok

March 11th, time to go boating. But first a nice swim.

The pool at The Ambassador has been shined up with artificial grass. It is very nice.

Waiting for the Sky Train at Nana Station.

Bang Na, our end station. We went off before that.

Roy with a teacher that acted as a tour guide for the boats.

Fancy river front hotel along the river.

This is a very nice house boat.

Millennium Hotel, another fancy one.

An old fort in all its glory.

They have big engines on their tail-finned boats.

After a trip on the river, a trip with a Tuc-Tuc is a must. Here our driver.

Not very appetizing, raw meat slivers laid in the sun to dry.

Then the golden Buddha is a better bet.

Big, golden Buddha.

Thais are very religious and pray often and everywhere.

Ashes of old priests. It was a wall full of them.

Ice maker, cutting up big blocks of ice for sale.

Here you see the ice block ready to be cut.

Our Tuc-Tuc, a very pleasant way to see the town.

And the driver took us to a tailor's shop. We didn't buy anything.

Next up, another temple.

Golden dome.

Lot of Buddhas for sale.

Here seen from the behind.

A very nice hall for  sermonis.

A jeweler's shop. Martin liked this lady.

Saying good bye to our friendly Tuc-Tuc driver.

Time to hit the waster and canals again.

House along side the canals.

There were plenty of them.

Overpass.

Family houses.

The Thai and the Queen's flag outside a house. The Thais are very monarchists.

There are a lot of derelict houses along the canl.

This one could be removed.

And so could this one.

But there are some nice houses as well.

Like this family house.

Another nice house.

An underpass with the road above.

Long, strong supporting wall.

Traffic signs saying where you are going.

Fat boys along the river.

Another fancy underpass with pipes going oaver the river as well.

Long tail boats taking tourists on trips are plentiful.

This is an iguana, an animal that eats other dead animals, keeping the canals clean.

Metal monsters for sale.

Back in town, now on the way to see Arild and his wife Jiratip.

Traffic was heavy, so we just got there before sun down.

Way below, there is a nice 25 meters swimming pool.

Roy and Martin on the top of the block of flats and it is a nice roof garden here.

All 5, Arild, Jiratip's friend, Martin, Jiratip and Roy.

Arild, Roy and Martin in Arild's flat at the 4th floor.

Jiratip and her female friend for Roy.

The next day, Saturday March 12th, it was time for a museum and shopping center.
