Before going to Da Nang, we did some more sightseeing in Dong Hoi.

Here is the trip from Da Nang To Hoi An.

Here is the monument with Phuong and Martin in the foreground.

The monument represents the grateful citizen of Dong Hoi, farmers, soldiers and workers.
"The Socialistic Republic of Vietnam" it says with Martin and Phuong.

Martin is having a rest.
Still building with now buyers in sight.

And they are going up all over the town.
But there are now buyers?

Empty beaches as far as you can see.
A preconstruction concept Martin has never seen.

Fantastic empty building.
Stacks of them.

Bao Ninh beach. With Phuong and Martin. Nobody else. Sad.
Lovely, fancy enormous hotel complex with no buyers.

The red flag represents the youth wing of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
A brand new church is going up.

But the altar is in place.

A local church bombed by the American by mistake in 1965.
Not much left.

And an opportunity to create ate some propaganda.

Actually, quite impressive.

Some empty beach villas. Who wants to live her at this crummy beach.

Which is all empty. Then for a city tour of Dong Hoi.

Tome for dinner. At 7th Heaven restaurant, they had the most amazing Australian beef.
Martin's favorite, Saignon White beer.

Then off to the railway station.
Of course, train late.

Phuong is enjoying herself.

A gravel packing machine used the rail line maintenance.
Train finally arrived.

Two youngsters that wanted to learn English. Martin had fun.
Lovely way to travel.

Vinpearl Da Nang. Very fancy and expensive hotel.

On Sunday March 28th, it was time for festival in Hoi An some 30 kms South of Da Nang.
