Summing it all up.

The main event of the day was a trip to the Post Office and some tanning that
was cut short (only 2,5 hours) by heavy cloud cover.
City Hall in Eilat. Next our hotel. And
changing money. Behind bulletproof glass, just in case, a 9mm Smith&Wesson
double action Pistol. Just in case. |
The central post office of Eilat. And a very
helpful assistant, Sharon Kadosh, that helped Martin with getting the right kind of stamps.
Not easy. 2.40 shekels for Africa and 2.20 for Europe. Nice guy. |
Orange, the cell company in Israel has one of their masts in
central Eilat. And the ever present, armed Israeli soldiers,
their guns at the ready. Can you find a safer place? |
Magazine details of the M16. Only the elite guys have the
new, Israeli made Galil, a rifle that can use AK47 magazines as well. Then
with 34 rounds capacity. In South Africa, local produced versions of this
rifle is called the R4. The Norwegian flag outside the
neighboring hostel. |
Then in the afternoon, Martin had some tanning to do. But
the clouds chased him in after 2,5 hours. There were clouds
in Eilat. Very rare according to the locals. |
The next day, Thursday,
Martin attended the orientation meeting for the second time since the first one
was so good.
