On the way to the non-running boat, Martin went past the
most unfriendly place in Eilat. An information counter. Any question you ask
you get the same answer: We open next week. With a grumpy, unfriendly
and hateful stare from the female manager. Israeli information services
doesn't need bitches like these. Get rid of her! Main street
behind Spring Hostel. Also main business street in old Eilat. |

Airport in the middle of town is unique. Great fun. For how
long? Locals says they talked for 30 years, and may talk for another 30
before anything happens. Shiran, the most delightful and
caring waitress I ever met in Eilat. Very concerned about my early morning
beer. She was a great pleasure and got a great tip. Worthy so. |
|
|
Shiran and her non-English coworker, Shahar.
Martin enjoying a great Israeli breakfast. Superb food. Lasted for the whole
day until 2000 hours. |
|
|
The wind was very heavy. Norwegian flag in the wind.
And youngsters out running with their instructor. Fine kids. |
|
|
The swell was great. A heck of a wind coming in from the Red
Sea. And no Zorba, understandable enough. To heavy wind
gust. Got some spray on the lens of Martin's camera. |
|
|
After picking up the US $ 28,- for the cancelled boat trip,
it was back to Spring Hostel. Here, the ever friendly
receptionist was, as always, busy doing his job. Pity having a boss like
Gaddi. Frustrated guy with a broken arm and bad temper. Meyer though, always
smiled. |
|
|
A very pleasant surprise. Martin's first female cab driver,
his age and above all, from Johannesburg! Great fun and rather homely from
Martin's 12 years in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her name was Lyn(ette).
If you ever are in Eilat, call her for a cab at 0528 222 904 if you want a
friendly pleasant drive. Martin had one ;-)) Cute toddler
outside Pierre. |
|
|
Mom and toddler just outside Fawlty Towers.
Walters friend. So-called artist friend. |
|
|
A saxophonist playing outside Boston Fish and Steakhouse at
the waterfront. Very pleasant music. A welcome change to the modern-day
hammering music you hear all over the show. And the
illustration outside the restaurant, a boat with the appropriate name of
Boston, Mass. |
|
|
And since the breakfast was so hefty, no lunch needed and
only some bread for dinner. More than sufficient. The Boss
of Boston and Martin saying farewell for this time. I'll be back. |
