In the afternoon of the 30th, Martin left for Shangri-La (weather).

Shangri-La is some 1500 kms due West of Chongqing, 1,6 hours flight.

Martin's travel route: Bangkok - Chongqing(about) with plane, Chongqing - Shangri-La(about) by plane, ShLiangri-La - Lijiang by bus and Lijiang-Beijing by plane. By road, more than 3200 kilometers. Roy have taken hundreds of photos. Can be seen here.

Landed in Shangri-La. Nice, cool place. Too cool for Martin's liking.

Welcome to Shangri-La.

the streets of Shangri-La were clean and the traffic not too heavy. But then, it has only some 80 000 inhabitants.

Newly built Buddhist temple after the commies tore them down during the 50-ties and cultural revelution.

Apr1st, time to visit Snowy Mountain.
