The pictures below are thumbnails, meaning they are small copies of the real
thing. You just click them. The weather
in Norway
and in
Bangkok just now.
This Monday was Buddha day and no beers or alcohol was
sold in the bars of Pattaya. Martin met with Philip, the chairman of the local
Rotary Club.

To the left, Kran and Philip, charmain of
the local
Rotary Club of Pattay, with the pictures from last year
Cross Bay Swim. Martin will participate this year on Nov 7th.
The pool of the 5 star hotel, Dusit Thani Hotel where the
swim ends. |

Same picture, Martin's mistake.
The bay across which the swim will take place. |

The lovely tropical garden inside the
Dusit Hotel. On the opposite side
of the bay is the Sea Rescue institution where the swim starts. |

Martin at the starting point. The end
point is ringed in. It is Buddha
day so beer can only be served in coffee cups. |

Then we had a lovely dinner, sold by this
lovely katoey.
Kathoey or katoey (Thai:
กะเทย,
IPA: [kaʔtʰɤːj])
is a
male-to-female
transgender person or an
effeminate gay
male in
Thailand. Related phrases include sao (or phuying) praphet song (Thai:
สาวประเภทสอง,"a second kind of woman"),
or phet thi sam (Thai:
เพศที่สาม, "third
sex"). The word kathoey is thought to be of
Khmer origin[1]
(the equivalent Khmer word is "kteuy").[2]
It is most often rendered as ladyboy in English conversation with
Thais and this latter expression has become popular across
South East Asia except in the
Philippines where the term
bakla[3]
is often used. Lovely dishes, both fish and meats or
combinations. |

|
They are fantastic and well worth trying,
but on the expensive side as Thai prices go.

her by Martin. |
|
The next day, Tuesday
July 27th, it was time for
a swim across the bay and a fishing trip.
