To the left, Ellen and Martin with their
friendly driver, Soran that took us for a very pleasant trip to the
Northernmost part of Goa for a beach visit. To the right,
one of the many beautiful churches of Goa, leftovers from the Portuguese
rule for more than 400 years. |
Ellen and Martin outside the church.
On the road, a nice view. |
Chilly plantation, used after the rice crop when
the rain has stopped. At the beach, Martin has settled down
and his lovely knees in the foreground. |
Martin and Ellen has settled in under a
beautiful, locally made canopy of bamboo leaves. Ellen
frying her backside fat. Lot of high factor sun tan lotion doesn't make her
too crisp. |
Old hippy cyclist on the beach. Practical
transportation mean. Martin's sun bed. Have a closer look
and it's marked in red. Just click the thumbnail. |
Someone is fishing from the rocks where swimming
is not allowed. Nice. Another view of the fascinating beach
we visited. Repeat visit is contemplated. |
Nice view of the beach. Martin had a 30 min swim
downstream. Battled to get back. Temperature in water was perfect. Close to
300 Centigrade. Some of the local rocks. Most
probably of volcanic origin. |
More volcanic rocks Southwards from the beach.
Ellen and Martin had a exquisite lunch from this place. Just a prawn starter
that made you more hungry. But a couple of beers killed the hunger.
Fortunately. |
Here Martin and Ellen is enjoying their lunch
overlooking the paradise like beach. On the way back, the
locals had their lunch on the beach as well. Not the same standard. |
One of the stray dogs in the drink. Dogs in
India are treated with respect by the Hindus, because the don't know if it
is a reincarnation of their naughty uncle.
On the beach, BolllyWood had one of their props used in
filmmaking. Nice looking strange ship. |
The BollyWood ship seen from afar.
On the way book, we visited some roadside temples. Ellen is posing at one. |
At the temple, cows have right of ways in the
traffic and get watered here. They even have special graveyards for them
when they die. Another temple site view. |
Nice view. Another view of
temple sites. |
The buildings are nice, but dilapidated. Why
don't they maintain them better we European would say? But who are we to
criticize their way of living? The buildings are very nice
and colorful. |
Further down the road, in the red iron rich soil
of Goa, you have this temple. And at the same place, you had
a Christian symbol. That's what nice about India, the tolerance for all kind
of religions. Not like the hateful Muslims that kills anyone not bowing to
their brand of religion. |
Crossing the main bridge on the way back.
They are harvesting hay for their cows. Holy or not, they are milked. So
after the rice season is over, they pile the hay off for their cows. |
Martin bought a nice old fashion hippy shirt.
Very cool anyway you look at it. |
