5 April Shooting Range, Laos

5 April International Shooting Range is a large-scale integrated shooting and entertainment venue for live-ammo shooting. Covering a total area of 120,000sqm, this is by far the largest commercial shooting range in Asia with the most advanced facilities.

Before swimming we had a big breakfast at Settha Palace Hotel, Just across the road.

Martin waiting for the bill. Very expensive USD 15 per person for breakfast and some 180 USD per night. Martin pays 29 at Moolight Champa. Much cheaper and almost as good.

But the breakfast was excellent, but not a good idea before the swim. Martin only did 44 laps instead of 80 in 72 minutes time.
A quick trip to town to buy a battery for the scale.

On the range, Bankk and Sunan having a chat.

Phuong likes this mock-up.

Bankk, Phuong and driver taking off to the range.

Phuong getting some instructions.

Practicing recoil uptake. The gun kicks.

The plates. Very well done  and hard to hit.

Phuong is trying to load a magazine. Not easy.

The ammo is old shit Chinese leftovers, 38 years old at 0,80 USD a pop. Nice way to get rid of outdated ammo. That is the discounted price.

Phuong having a go at the target.

She hit very well. 49 out of 50 possible is very good for a beginner. Instructor Martin is very proud and impressed by his fiancée.

Off to the range next door. Customs officials are doing adaption shooting on 3 meters. Just to get a feel for how a gun handle while firing it.

Martin and Phuong at the Customs Range.

Nice overview of the two.

Back in the car. Outside temperature is 40 degree centigrade.

The entrance to the range from the main road.

36 Manor International Sport Hotel that we visited since it was next door to the shooting range. But they have almost no presence on the Internet. Only a Facebook page. Not good enough.

Phuong and Martin at the entrance. A hotel that Martin definitely will visit during his next visit. If they got water in the pool.

Phuong is holding up their price list. Pricy. But you got it 30% cheaper if you booked via one of the on-line booking companies.

Phuong at the reception.

Thip, the customer liaisons officer. As a child she immigrated to the USA and returned back to Laos fluent in English.

Main Pool: Wide: 21.90m , Length 58.20m
Small Pool: Wide: 9.30m, Length 19.5m

Here you can see the small pool behind the main pool.

Here you have the main pool. Almost 60 meters long. Very impressive.

And most of the rooms are facing the pool. Very nice. Martin likes it.

Bankk is buying pineapple for our lupper. But they did have it.

Bankk took us to a very nice and original restaurant out in the rice fields. Manamae garden restaurant.

Impressive gangway to the huts where you eat.

Martin tried a new beer, NamhKong. It is so new that the brewery hasn't updated its website with it.

Bankk on his way while scratching his ass.

Phuong and her best friend, the telephone. There is a very nice drone video of this place. Watch it.

Martin happy without shoes.

The girls next door are putting away the beers. 70% of the guests were females. And nice ones too.

Weird netting for people to take a photo.

The serving huts are in the middle of a rice field.

Gangways connects the huts.

View from our hut.

The rice give a very pleasant smell or odor that is good for your palates.

The row of huts next to us.

Lovely green rice fields.

NamKhong beer. Not on BeerLao's list on the Internet.

The ladies across for us. Very happy bunch.

Martin and Phuong together. Martin had a very nice barbequed chicken.

After the lupper. Phuong went to a temple to pray.

One of many. In the meantime, Martin was sleeping in the car.
