Summing it all up.

Christmas Ever 2010
The pictures below are thumbnails, meaning they are small copies of the real thing. You just click them. The weather in Norway and in Bangkok just now.

Christmas Eve was celebrated with a nice swim in the sea, 1200 meters, tanning, 600 meters in the pool, a visit to the Internet  café and celebrating the evening itself at Lucky Restaurant, downtown  Hua Hin.

To the left, the lovely fruit table at the restaurant.

Then to the top of the hotel. The pool seen from the top, 32 stories up.

They are rebuilding everything for some odd strange reasons. The hotel was build in 1997, but never really finished.

The pool seen from the top, scary.

Old dilapidated plumbing and electrical wiring. The hotel was put up with sub-standard material and it doesn't pay in the long run.

The empty top floor that was never finished. The plan to do it, but the management of the whole lot doesn't impress Martin. Not smart enough.

More empty floors.

The mountain outcrop next to the top floor. You get a different perspective from this high up.

The beach North of the hotel. Look nice from the top of the hotel.

Martin at the top towards the South.

Martin look North from the top.

Nice mountain towards the West from the top.

Amazing empty top floor. What were the builders thinking? Fast cash from stupid foreigners? Not so, so now they are paying the price.

The hotel towards the South. No intelligent use of the vast rooftops. They are not smart the developers of these hotels. What a fantastic place to have a tan in the afternoon when the sun is gone from the beach?

The end view towards the South.

On the very roof. The lift shafts are seen here.

The new access road towards the hotel is being built. Why a new reception? The old one is OK. The developers seem to think with their arses.

Kran at the very top where the electricity comes in.

The greenery below.

Kran walking through one of the unfinished archways on the 30th floor.

Kran's car seen from the top.

On the 30th floor at the end condo towards the West, Kran is having a look. Who the hell would pay 4,4 millions bath for a condo here? For that, Martin can rent a fantastic condo in Jomtien, Pattaya for 24 years. There are many stupid foreigners with too much money.

Down at the ground floor, Kran is hugging a "snowman". The whole idea with a white Christmas is out of place when the shadow air temperature is 32 degrees centigrade.

Martin next to the Christmas parcel.

Martin enjoying a Christmas beer.

Kran is tanning Thai style, in the shade of the umbrella.

Kran an her coconut tree.

The buoy where we start swimming in the morning.

Martin looking at the surf eating up the shore line.

Tanned Martin back from the sea.

The shade from the 32 stories hotel comes to the pool area at 1330 in the afternoon. Watch the video of the hotel.

Then it is over. Here the shade line is next to Martin.

Martin in the sun, hot and sweaty. Nice tanning conditions.

Here is the shade line causer, the hotel. On the East side of the hotel, there is no sun after 1350. Sad. Why not make a sundeck on top of the hotel? Today, there is only rubbish there. Waste of valuable real estate, but the developers don't understand simple things like that. All they want is a fast buck from stupid foreigners. Martin would never buy a condo here. What for?

What is really substandard material are the doors and their doorframes seen here.

If just these were removed, it would have a good standard for many years to come. Why change everything?

Kran is off to the student's restaurant.

Kran is ordering some nice, cheap soup at the counter.

Martin is pulling faces.

Kran's car outside the students' dormitory.

Student playing tic-tac-toe with bottle caps on a squared table.

The West side of Milford Paradise hotel. Most rooms were not occupied. Today, it was maybe some 20 odd custumers.

Outside the hotel as in most places, the beloved King and Queen of Thailand. The Thais really love their royalties.

Evening sun from our room on the 6th floor.

The snow man in the dark at the hotel.

Kran arriving at Lucky's Restaurant after having her car parked.

Then off to Lucky restaurant for our Christmas dinner. Lovely woman arrived.

Thai ladies on their side of the table. Why, Martin doesn't know.

Jan from Vestvågøy, and an old colleague of Arnljot, Martin's uncle.

Fancy sales boy flogging his goods to the customers.

Christmas table.

The working girls at the restaurant had their hands full.

Lynn and the chairman of the arrangement committee giving a speech.

Kran and Martin's drinks at the table. Cola Light, aquavit and beer from Norway.

The Christmas plate with traditional Norwegian Christmas food.

The jolly staff of Lucky's Restaurant.

Martin's Christmas beer from Norway. It didn't even taste good.

Lynn, the owner of Lucky's in an intense conversation with the chairman of the party committee.

The Christmas wall of Lucky's.

Back at the hotel, they have their own New Year's decorations.

The next day, Saturday December 25th, it was time to travel to Jomtien, Pattaya, Martin's last leg on the trip for now, sadly.
