Summing it all up.

To the left, the endless queues in front of the immigration desks. Equally boring every time before getting into the any country. Some countries are worse than others. Top of the list is Egypt and South Africa.

To the right, having a chat with the local tour guide from Apollo. Not too well organized.

The local always want to help for a buck. In this case one US $ for hauling the luggage.

Martin ordered unspecified hotel with a pool that cost an extra 120 dollars. And what do you get? A useless splash pond in the middle of the reception area.

The pool is useless as a pool, but blends beautifully into the color scheme used in the hotel. It looks rather delicate with the blue tiles.

Then it's time for some local cash. Here, Eli is at the cash dispenser drawing some pesos, the local dough in Mexico.

The building accross the street had some nice, pink plaster work.

Eli outside out hotel, Hacienda del Caribe. Nice yellow colors.

The streets were nice an clean with a vibrant touch to it. Lovely streets without traffic, reserved for the pedestrians and tourists.

Two old timers from the USA bringing their computer with them, hooking into a network in the street.

The first day of a visit always start with the briefing from the tour agency, in this case, Apollo.

Lots of candles are used. Here the stairs down from the briefing.

Martin and Eli on the streets of Puerto del Carmen.

A local church.

In the supermarket that had everything. From the left, Eli, Johan and Cissy, Johan's girl friend.

Martin buying some blue gooey that tasted just as bad as it looks.

A memorial of the Mayan culture with their hotspots.

Eli in her bed with the fanciful headrests in bright colors. The motive is the sun that holds a central place in the Mayan culture.

Martin with his chair using the same sunny theme.

Lobsters are big and expensive. These cost 80 US dollars a pop. Not worth it if you ask me.

Having a frosty Corona always taste good.

The Corona delivery boy. Friendly face as long as the business is OK.

Eli looking at some colorful bags for her collection.

Back on the beach after a swim, Martin is rinsing his trusty swimming trunks.

Nice trunks.

Some green gooey on the beach rocks. Quite nice actually.

Time for lunch.

And dinner. The food cooked in front of you always makes it more homely. Only two dishes on the menu, chicken or beef or cow as the cook put it.

Sitting close to the street watching the people passing by is always great entertainment.

Inside a shop for woven textiles, Eli's favorite. Nice and colorful.

Eli is trying a new hat on. Didn't fancy her taste though.

Fantastic shop for selling silver, one of the major products of the Mayan culture.

The next day, Tuesday 31st, it was time for another beach visit and a visit to a Mayan village in the bushes.
