Summing it all up.

TanyasPhotos

This day, we went to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's burial site, the alabaster factory and we set sail for Edfu.

To the left, we have the part of the Nile we passed on our second day.

To the right, part of the Nile that we passed.

Crossing the Nile for a trip.

To the get bus for our trip to the valley.

Typical Nile boat.

Hatshepsut's big guardian stones to the entry of the valley.

Hatshepsut's temple where the massacre of tourists happened in 1996. 57 persons killed by AKs.

Tanya and Jorunn on the steps to the temple.

On route to the temple in small carriages.

Work in progress. Stones collected for reconstruction.

Working with alabaster. How to make pots.

The boss of the Backstreet Boys, singing as they work.

Daddy got offered 150 camels for Tanya by Mark, an oldie with 3 wives already. Tanya said no thanks.

Abrahm, our Egyptian tour guide.

Guided tour to the Valley of the Kings. Anna leading the way.

Tanya at the entrance.

The barren valley of the kings.

Outside the grave of one of the Ramses' graves.

Tanya and big stones.

Normal transportation in modern day Egypt.

AK boy standing bored. His job is to shoot back if the tourists get shot at.

At the exit of the valley.

Back to the starting point of the valley.

Rice fields watered by the Nile. Without the Nile, Egypt would only have been a vast desert.

Crossing the Nile on a bridge.

Outside the boat, the locals have a quiet smoke from their water pipes.

Back to our boat. Bottom right, the big Danish tour guide, Sten.

The next day, we visited the Horus temple at Edfu and set sail for Aswan.
