Summing it all up.

Textual stuff about Goa

Visit to the dentist is not fun. Martin spent more than an hour in the chair getting one tooth cut for capping and replacing an old cap that Martin wrenched out.

To the left, Map of Southern Goa where Palolem is situated.

To the right, there are Christians around in Goa as well. Leftovers from the colonial times of the Portuguese.

Daynand, Martin's driver has a Hindu flower wreath on his dash. Nice colors.

They harvest rice twice a year in Goa. This is a wet one.

This is a dry rice field.

And an ever drier one.

This is a really dry rice field, ready for the rainy season.

Goa as a lot of ugly road signs. This is one of them.

There are some really ugly houses in Goa. Look at this dilapidated shack.

People are plentiful in Goa and India. It's the country's curse. They populate themselves to death.

Bali is a favorite island for tourism in the Indonesian archipelago. On the map, it is written win one l. But in reality it's two ls.

More terraced dry ricefields.

On route to our destination. Here is the sign to Palolem.

A possible beach hut Martin will stay in at Palolem. The price is a little steep. INR 600 for 6 days is on the edge.

The beach is nice and sheltered, meaning it's safe to swim. Martin will cover 2000 meters every moring here.

At the restaurant overlooking the beach. Lovely.

Papa Martin with his grey hairs flowing in the wind. Being called Papa is also in India an expression of respect which you don't have in the Western culture. Martin loves it.

Daynand, Martin's driver. Good bloke.

Making garlic nan bread. He is from Nepal and don't speak very well English.

Some English girls Martin had a chat with concerning the standards of things at the beach.

More green rice fields.

Water buffalo. Almost as sacred as cows. Only used for their milk.

The buffalo herd next to the main road to the capital Punjab.

Some fancy trees along the road. Nice name that Martin has forgotten. Sorry.

Martin had a leak on the road and watched this fancy tree growing on the wall. Talking about the writing on the wall!

Souvenir shop from the outside. Not a big deal.

The shop from the inside. A much nicer view.

Color festival in Goa. Everyone painted each other with water color. Martin had to have a shower when back at the hotel.

The next day, Tuesday March 17th, it was time for another swim, visit to the towel shop and Kathleen house.
