A dusty place.

This is our train trip to Boten.
Read a fascinating story about Boten Border Crossing.

June and Martin in front of the crossing.

Our driver.

One of the many unfinished hotels.

Empty streets.

Our breakfast, local breakfast.

A kind of local, thick pancake that tasted OK>

Enjoying a local breakfast. It was fun.

One of the many empty streets.

Not many people, and most of them Chinese.

There was a market of shorts.

Here, a pineapple truck.

Unfinished hotels all around you.

It was hundreds of them it looked like.

Dusty containers.

The city in the horizon.

Crummy raods.

But a nice, big hotel that function in all of this.

The city sign.

It was very simple and hard to see.

The railway station of Boten.

Heavy trucks that streamed towards the border.

Many of them.

Back into Laos proper.

A dusty altar outside our room.

Our hotel had changed name so this was the correct one.

Time for lupper.

It was a nice restaurant across the street from our hotel.

There were  another couple there.

It was not bad at all.

The food was good.

But the BeerLao was better.

Above us, the railroad lines.

Up the road, there were a few other buildings as well.

Back to Vientiane with a very slow train.

Bracket details on the rails.

On Thursday November 17th, we were back in Vientiane.
