Jul 18 - Martin and Kran at River Kwai
The pictures below are thumbnails, meaning they are small copies of the real thing. You just click them. The weather in Norway and in Bangkok just now.

Kran is a very pleasing woman. She was friendly, sweet and gentle and really took good care of Martin. She is lovely. So Martin came back for more.

To the left, Kran is off to a lovely breakfast at The River Kwai Hotel.

Stone figures, depicting workers from some 100 years back.

Truckload of basket on the road.

Kran and Martin relaxing outside the cemetery.

Tough, Thai cop awaiting the princess arrival. She is the granddaughter of the present king in Thailand.

The Military Cemetery we visited.

The greens living up to the main center of the cemetery.

A close-up of the main cross.

Some wise words from a present day Australian soldier.

Row and rows of graves gave a profound impression of sadness.

The inscription on the main memorial of the military units whose members died during WWII.

A lone tree on the cemetary.

A lot of confusion of the princess' arrival. Plenty cops.

Kran's car at the railway crossing.

The princess' train is crossing the street on its way to the River Kwai.

Martin on the River Kwai itself.

The floating restaurants below the river.

The bridge towards the other side. Martin walked across, Kran not. High heels.

Long tail boats below the bridge for the tourist trade.

Another detailed view of the Burma side of the bridge.

Martin and Kran on the bridge.

I was quite dangerous to walk across and a little boy fell trough the cracks.

The bridge seen from below.

Towards the other side.

Kran and Martin had a nice Thai lunch on the floating restaurants.

A wedding boat passed bye. Loud Karaoke music could be heard. There is a 25 Mb clip of this boat.

Martin's big River Kwai shrimps ended a lovely visit full of impressions.

The next day, Monday July 19th, Kran and Martin left River Kwai and went to her home town KlongLan.
