Our
first village.
We went up the river to
Pa Laeb, our first stop.
View from the ship. |
The Chinese are building
bridges all over the show.
Here is another one. |
A
cliff with a special history.
We ran ashore here. They don't use anchors
since they get stuck in the stones on the river bottom. |
You
can see the level of water. It is very low now as the black stripes
indicates.
Beautiful view up river. |
Nice
rock face.
Martin's legs as he sits in front of the ship
enjoying the view.
ViAnh with her grumpy look on. |
They have bikes
onboard the ship for those that would like to try it. Martin is NOT one of
them.
Two kids that June gave some food from the
hotel. Highly appreciated.
Water height
measurement show how high the water can be. |
ViAnh is waiting to disembark.
They are
preparing the gangway for us to disembark. |
Every vilage has a temple. This village is no
exception.
This is their
bell tower or stupa, an empty structure. |
An abandoned Chinese jeep of sorts. It has
seen better days.
ViAnh and Martin is having a moment resting.
Martin's knees are no good.
The sideway view of the temple. Very nice
building. |
The tour group.
Afternoon trip. |
Another village.
Leaving the ship.
A birds nest.
The winding road up to the village. |
Our ship.
Local pigs. |
Rubbish.
Duck pond.
Up the hill.
Long way to go.
Martin was glad he didn't participate. |
Returning to our ship. And our
lovely cabins. |
On day Feb 6th, it was time
for Xayburi Dam.
