Summing it all up.

This day, Eli and Martin split up. Eli went to visit the ruins at Chichen Itza while Martin went on a boat trip.

To the left, the pyramid of Chichen Itza where Eli had a look.

To the right, the cellote a underground river that pops up here and there. Eli had a swim in the drink.

Another cellote that Eli passed by. Lovely clean fresh water.

Martin on the other hand enjoyed a day on the catamaran, a two hulled sailing ship.

The streets of Playa del Carmen are not old. They were build in the late 80-ties and early 90-ties with and old fashion touch to them.

They look lovely and cozy, basically for pedestrians. Nice to walk in.

Boulevard 5 crossing the Avenue Juarez, you have a Mayan stone head. Nice.

Tatiana, the tour guide of the booze cruise. Lovely, language capable brat from Italy.

After an hour picking up non show participants, we changed from a small bus to bigger one.

At the end of the road, be eventually boarded the catamaran, Sea Passion I.

Sea Passion I in all her glory.

Leaving the harbor, an enormous Mexican flag was flying in the wind.

The caption on the ship, a capable and friendly fellow, most likely.

After the the long bus trip, some 90 minutes, a beer was most welcome, as it always is.

The catamaran has two hulls, the space in  between was covered by mesh netting used as a sun bathing base.

The mainland behind us. Nice.

After leaving shore, it was time to collect the buffer buoys.

The land in the horizon is passing with time as we close in to our destination, the island of Mujero.

The sea was crowded. A lovely yellow boat, the UltraMar is overtaking us.

Tatiana at it in 4 different languages, and God could she speak!

Another boat on the sea.

An overview of the destination, the island of Mujero where we where supposed to snorkel. But was cancelled due to high winds.

Marco, the smiling Swiss from St. Gallen. He enjoyed it as well.

As did Martin with his Coronas in a yellow tent.

The bar itself, with the selection of standard hard tacks as found in most Mexican bars.

The bar crew served drinks and hard core porn for those interested. Martin was not.

Instead, as usually, Martin enjoyed his Corona (Spanish beer) on the sun bed outside, leaving the porn guys behind.

And a little wee-wee was needed in a nice tree covered area.

Back on the boat for a stop for some snorkeling. Martin did the most.

Behind was Martin's porn shop and lovely beer. But the trip was all inclusive, so there was no lack of drinks on the boat.

Modern hotels were all over the show.

Then it was time for lunch.

Cecily, from England and Martin sharing a joke and some good buffet lunch.

Back to the boat, most lovely sloshed.

Marco did his basic training with Strumgewehr 57, a rifle Martin loved while visiting Switzerland.

The next day, Wednesday Feb 2nd, it was time for some computer work and relaxing on the beach again.
