Summing it all up.

First stop in Italy and a visit to the leaning tower of Pisa.

To the left, a detailed map of Livorno, the gateway to Tuscany and Pisa.

To the right, the overview of the trip. Just to put you in the picture where you are for the time being.

The famous umbrella trees alongside Roman roads, planted for shade.

Group 10 herded along the busy tourist traps on to the tower.

Following our tour guide 10 was essential. To get lost was catastrophic.

First glimpse of the famous leaning tower.

Seen from the straight side.

Long churchy buildings next to the cathedral. The tower was originally built as a bell tower only.

Inside the cathedral, and there where two of them.

The main ship of the cathedral.

The ceiling of the cathedral.

Our no 10 busy at work. Martin L can be seen as well. They performed a special form of echo testing here. Listen to it.

More leaning from this angle.

The founder of Rome, Romulus and Remulus having a sip of milk from their wolfing foster mother.

The entrance of the leaning, guess what? Only for special guests with special cards, bought well in advance.

After all this walking, sitting down did well for the Martins, particular for Martin T's aching sciatica.

Roy and Magnhild having a quiet rest as well.

On the way back to the boat. Half a day trip suffices.

The next day, Tuesday, May 20th, it was time for Civitavecchia, the gateway to Rome. And a very wet visit.
