Martin had to skip his swimming since he went to Spinalonga at 0625 in morning and returned at 1820 in the evening.

Rubin and Martin waiting for the bus outside our hotel.

Then we picked up people all over town.

And an English couple some 30 kms outside tow.

First stop was this monastery high up in the mountains.

Our bus 81 at the monastery.

Martin and his bus before we took off on the last leg of the trip.

A monastery detail.

The monks needed help to prune their trees.

At last at the harbor of Elounda opposite the island of Spinalonga.

A lot of local fisher boats in the habor.

City view of Elounda.

Off to our boat, Chrisanthe. It was very well maintained.

Harbor view of Elounda.

The bar on our boat is well stocked, but ran out of Martin's favorite brew, The Beer Hellas.

Boat view.

The aft water of our boat

The anchor is hoisted up during the voyage.

The EU flag on the forecastle head of the boat.

The castle at the entrance of Spinalonga.

The Northernmost entrance.

The map of the Spinalonga island.

One old piece of the leprosy colony.

They had their dwellings here from 1905 to 1957.

Old houses, now derelict.

The disinfection chamber for visitors and lodgers on the island.

The walls are very thick.

The water is very clean and Martin had a 20 minutes swim in it.

The main gate towards the main land of Crete.

Martin relaxing under a tree next to the main gate.

These flowers are not eaten by goats. Therefore, they survive. Goats eat anything.

The gun emplacements towards the North.

The pathway around the island is nice and cozy.

A tourist ship, of which there are many, passing by.

Martin with our ship, Chrisnthe in the background.

A sailing ship is also on the sea.

The rocks are barren. Thailand is much nicer.

After Martin's swim, there was a barbeque, well made ashore.

The lunch is ready to be served.

Martin relaxing on board.

The gun emplacement seen from the sea side.

Martin and Rubin relaxing.

Ashore at Elounda.

Nice harbor.

Rubin and Martin is relaxing with a beer or two.

The next day, Wednesday May 22nd, it was another day.
