To the left, ready to depart from Poda beach. The famous Bond Rock. |
Martin in front of the Bond Rock. Martin contemplating the long tail boat for departure to Krabi. |
The Long Boat Captain overlook the loading of human flesh. Martin at the front of the boat. |
Nice beach on Koh Poda. Overhanging cliff. Amazing that stone structures like this is made in nature. |
Dripping stones. As said, half a millimeter a year. Not
much. Caves in the mountain side. Drip stone is rather soft so the water disintegrate it easily. |
Red rock containing some iron which causes the color. The small caves used by the swallow to build their nests. |
The princess cave. Cute story about a princess from India
that for 2000 years ago couldn't find the dick of her choice. She stranded
in Krabi, all killed by the sea. All bodies found except the princess. So
fishermen put a wooden dick in the sea to pacify the princess and get good
luck with their fishing. The wooden dicks floats ashore and is stored in the
princess cave. Details of the dicks or more polite language, phallus symbols. |
The entrance of the princess' cave. The beach second best of the world according to travelers. No, it's totally overcrowded. |
The caves are used for rock climbing experience. If you look
at the big picture, you'll see the climbing bolts hammered into the rock
face. To put some kick in your pants, two times 250 horsepower would do the trick. |
The beach is very crowded. Martin almost got his head
chopped off by one of the long boat propellers. Another phallus symbol. This time in rock or drip stone. |
Nicholas, our friendly tour guide really did a good job.
Friendly, but never importunate. Nice guy. Martin lost part of a tooth. He'll get one when he goes to Goa in April. More to follow. |
The Thai flag running proudly in the wind. Håkan really need to slim down if he is to enjoy his retirement in 5 years time. |
Håkan on the way down the gangway, departing the ship that
carried us around.
Again, disciplined cattle waiting for transport back to the hotels. |
In all, a very enjoyable trip around in the archipelago of Thailand, so different from what you are used to in Norway. Here the islands are made due to tectonic movements, while the islands of Norway is shaped by glaciers during the last ice age. |
The next day, Friday, March 21st
was also Good Friday. Now it was time for processing the pictures from the last
3 days. Took some 5 hours to finish.
