To the left, Martin mistook the pickup point. It was to be
at the Karon Hotel, but Martin went to Hilton across the street.
To the right, the Thai people are mostly Buddist, a philosophy rather than a
religion. But much nicer than the bloody religions of the West like
Christianity, Islam and Judaism. The kill in the name of God.
Here we see some beads used for good luck, and on Thai
roads, you can need it. |

Our local guide that stayed with us for the whole two days.
Out on the jetty to the boat. |
As cattle to the slaughterhouse we all march obediently to
the boat. Entering the boat. |
Martin, Håkan and Åsa. The latter two from Sweden. A nice,
relaxed couple. Out to the sea. |
A architectural monstrosity along the shore.
Håkan and Åsa with the Thai flag in the background. Nice colors in the flag.
Like the Norwegian one. |
Like Martin's business cards. This little peninsula reminds
him of his palms on his cards. A plump rock sticking up of
the sea. |
The captain of our ship, Chandra 2.
The typical rocks of these waters. Dripstone or stalactites still dripping.
Half a millimeter a year. |
More straight rocks. Our boat Chandra 2 left
behind as we use the long tail boats to get ashore to have a swim. |
Rock face. Straight up rocks. Facinating. |
The forecastle head of our boat, showing her proud name.
An old fashioned schooner coming out of a grotto kind of area. |
Martin working on his tan in the long tail boat on the way
to the sore.
There are some rich people around as well. This yacht is a
sign of that. |
The stern of luxury. Into the grotto. |
The entrance. Håkan looking around. |
The drip stone rock faces are facinating.
One of them reaching for the sky. |
Sheer rock face.
More rock faces. |
Swallow nest. A delicacy for the Chinese and sold for an
exorbitant price. More rock faces. |
The cave entrance where the swallow build their nests.
Nest guardians sitting here for weeks preventing the nest being stolen. The
prices are high. |
Long tail boat landed. Cute form of sea going vessels.
Martin at the beach before a swim around the corner. |
Our lunch table at Koh Hong. See map above.
The memorials for the Tsuname of Dec 2006 are every where. |
The local has adequate lodgings as well.
Nicholas, our tour guide is pulling the boat ashore. |
The propeller of the boat. Dangerous piece of equipment if
touched while in operations. The princess Summer Palace high
up in the hill side. |
The James Bond rock from the film The Man with the Golden
Gun.
Amazing rock. |
Landed on Koh Poda. Martin's bungalow 2B to
the left. Basic standard, but more than adequate. |
The Bond Rock from far away. The sunset over
Koh Poda, but it was slightly overcast. |
The dinner table. Everyone ready to take their seat.
John from Sweden with his son Victor. The majority of the people came from
Sweden |
The local chef also entertained. He played the guitar. Some
of the local tunes can be heard on a video clip. Sounds like Norwegian
national fiddle. A Norwegian woman from the far North.
Beautiful hair. |
The dinner is over, and there is nothing but to go to bed.
The electricity is out at midnight and back on at 0600 hours. |
