Summing it all up.

Dec 16, Springbok Shooting Range

A quiet day at Springbok with a trip to Johnny's new shooting range outside the town.

To the left, Johnny is happily reloading Kolie's old brass.

To the right, Kolie is sorting boxer from berdan brass. Berdan is a press killer.

Kolie busy cleaning his brass before it goes into his press.

Johnny at the gates of his shooting range. Some 12 km out of town.

All stupid rules by the rules of the New South Africa. Clowns.

This is the 10 meters range. Only distance allowed by the clowns at this stage.

Safety zone or fumble zone where you load and unload your gun.

The toilets of what once were a changing-room for miners. The area is an abandoned copper mine where  the shaft is concreted shut.

Johnny is testing out the new sights he made for Kolie's old gun.

Kolie and Martin checking holes in the target after some precision shooting.

Martin with his .45 ACP and 230 grains lead bullets. Makes a lot of smoke.

The training is very good. Precision is alpha and omega.

Johnny's grip on the Smith & Wesson .45 ACP revolver. Notice his left hand grip.

Kolie and Johnny picking up brass after the shoot. Kolie kept Martin's .45 doppies, even though they are berdan type and hard to reload.

The changing-room where the shooting takes place. The roof blew off some years ago.

The mine shaft itself. It is today concreted shut.

The water tank and the environment around the shaft.

Radio mast just outside the town of Springbok.

The terrain around Springbok. Not much. Barren and sun burned.

Typical Springbok. It needs lots of rain to grow.

The following day, Sunday Dec 17th, Martin took another trip to the range with Johnny and Kolie.
