Our day-trip.

Martin starts the days in the gym, some 35 minutes.

Then a dip in the pool and he swims for some 60 minutes or 50x18 meters.

ViAnh and Martin having fun in the pool.

She is great company.

They are fooling around. Watch the video.

It is a lovely pool on the 25th floor overlooking the city.

Always fun in the water.

ViAnh properly dressed up for breakfast. The breakfast was very nice and had everything.

First stop this day was the cathedral of Da Nang.

ViAnh, Martin and one of the prophets in the background.

The holy grail hanging out to dry.

Ave Maria had her own cave on the premises.

Another view of the cave.

Where you could burn incense and candles.

In front of the church.

Along side the church.

They had their priestly schools next to the church.

Off to Hoi An.

Religious flags. Martin has been here before in 2020 or so.

Martin having a break.

The Japanese boat on the entrance for the Japanese old city

Martin checking in.

Outside the temple.

Another boat trip. Not the first time.

All 3 on the boat.

ViAnh at the helm of the boat.

With facemask this time.

All 3 in front of the boat.

Martin in his blue car shirt.

Another antique boat from Japan.

Riverside.

Seen from the inside of our boat.

Lots of fancy residences, all empty.

Lovely and empty.

Lovely and very few residents.

Beer brake before going back.

Martin ready to roll in a rickshaw taxi pedaled by one of the locals.

June and ViAnh in front.

Happy New 2022. Hope it is better than the last year.

Crossing the bridge.

Street sculpture.

Over the bridge to our car and grumpy driver.

Then to the museum of Cham sculptures. Cham ruled here for 1200 years from 200 to 1400 BC when the Vietnamese took over. They came from China originally.

First, we had to haggle through the virus check. It took 20 minutes.

One of the sculptures.

One of the many statues.

Martin was here too.

A lovely display of posters.

Gallery history.

Local dresses from the time.

Martin selfie on one of the wagons in the museum.

Back to town via the Dragon Bridge, one of the landmarks of Da Nang.

We went to a restaurant the had cork fee. First Martin has ever seen.

ViAnh with her fancy blue drink at this Japanese restaurant. Food was not good at all.

On Tuesday January 11th, it was time for relaxing in the room.
