Lovely breakfast. Tim to take a trip. First, snowy pictures from Norway.
Unfortunately, the Military museum and Fusion Villa were closed.

MartinK is back in Westwood from Czech. This is what met him.

Minus 6 and light snow. Therefore Martin prefers the warm countries like South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.

Martin garden in Norway in the afternoon, dark, -6 and a little bit of snow. That's the reason Martin prefers Vietnam. Nice, warm weather and able to swim outdoors.
The hotel next door has been closed for a year and nothing maintained so the pool are all grown over.

Ready to travel on our day-trip. Details above.

Here is the complex with everything laid out.

We went to the complex of the Lady Madonna just outside Da Nang.

Some rules for visitors.

The Lady herself.

Martin and ViAnh at the base.

A little details on one of the statues. They are playing checkers.

The courtyard.

A prayer moment.

Behind the altar.

Another temple in the distance.

The temple gate.

Off to the pass outside the town.

On the top before going down on the other side of the pass.

Unfortunately, it was rather misty.

June and Martin on the top.

Greenery along the road.

The monument over something or other.

Some old fortifications.

An overview of the buildings. ViAnh  and Martin.

ViAnh in her dress from Sapa.

Having a beer, Martin saw this funny plant from a pot.

Lot of nice pot plants along the fence of the restaurant.

Original table, made from an old car tire.

June and Martin having fun.

A monument of sorts.

Nice place to relax.

On the way back, a monument over Vietnamese killed in a skirmish with the French in 1947.

Martin and ViAnh at the waterfall close by.

Martin and ViAnh.

A sign saying that it is a turnoff the road if you lost your brakes.

The waterfall next to the monument.

This is for cars or trucks having lost their brakes. The can run into this gravel and will stop almost immediately.

Off to Marble hill South of Town

All 3 gathered for a change.

There is a nice lift taking you to the top.

ViAnh and Grandma June.

View from the top.

Place for incense.

Martin's favorite Buddha figure. Happy, big and fat.

June giving a prayer of sorts.

Lovely crystal ball.

ViAnh and Martin having a rest.

The swastika a Buddhist symbol.

Another temple entrance in the mountains.

Rules of behavior.

Martin crawling up the stairs. Hard work for an old man.

Looking out over town and lot of sculptures in the side of the mountain.

Final view from the top.

Fancy building in the middle of Da Nang.

Off to Madam Lan's restaurant. A lovely place recommended by the reception. We went there 3 times during our stay. Really good. This is what impressed Martin. Infinity pool, accurately made outside. Very impressive.

Martin's beers with the pool in the background.

Martin is happy with his beers.

On Monday January 10th, it was time for trip to Hoi An and its historical sites.
