This is outside the
legalizing of the marriage certificate.
We waited for a taxi.
The entrance was very
posh. |
|
|
And inside, Uncle Ho of course.
And to get legalized documents |
|
|
Finished the business inside and waiting for
a taxi.
Then off to the Norwegian Consulate at Somerset Chancellor Court. |
|
|
First time we were here was on March 14th to get our Vietnamese marriage
legalized in Norway. We were the told by a woman that we had to legalized an
already official document. The certificate was already translated it into
English and the translation was legalized. Not good enough. No mentioning of
a passport copy or anything. English.
When we arrived on the 14th of April, the
story had changed. We had to have a legalized copy of my wife's passport.
Either the staff is just incompetent or they mess with you because they can.
Power people.
All this back and forth cost us 866,000
VND or some 36 USD. Unnecessary. Lousy service.
You can look at
his face at uninterested clerk and see how condescending and snobbish he is.
He doesn't' care for you, his customers that pays tax to Norway and his fat
salary. He has only disdain for them |

|
Inside, we were greeted by a grumpy disinterested arrogant clerk. He refused
to speak to Martin. Even though he spoke excellent English. He had a very
top-down attitude and he turned his back to Martin when he tried to speak to
you.
Even his Vietnamese was unclear or
directly incorrect. He told my wife to get the passport copied and back to
him. Then he told her to have them legalized. Deliberately show how powerful
he was. Typical Vietnamese men in charge. They mess with you for fun. Not
nice. Wasted our time and money.
Off to the
police for Martin's residence card. It turned out they wanted his passport
for 7 days. A No-go.

|
|
Here
are the service rendered at the cops. Very unfriendly and dismissive.
On the road back we found this very good
English-speaking driver. He was very happy and loved speaking English that
was very good, close to excellent. A rarity in Vietnam these days. |

|
Martin at the Dimai
restaurant not far from our hotel.
Martin ordered cold cut
and got HOT cut for some reason. |
|
|
The kitchen or the
restaurant looked very inviting.
But Martin didn't like
his mussels came with Chilly. Shit stuff. |
|
|
June and the beer wall.
Not Martin's favorite is there. Saigon Chill.
A night cap at the local
street cafe around the corner. |
