On Thursday the 10th of
October, we moved to Sanjiang Grand Hotel Vientiane. It is located 3.2
km from Wat Si Saket Temple and offers airport shuttles. The centre of Vientiane is within 4 km of the venue, and the
gold-covered large Buddhist Pha That Luang Stupa is about 7 km away.

Martin's first swim in the Sangiang pool. Some 30 meters long.
The breakfast
was mediocre at best and half the food couldn't be eaten due to high
contents of a lot of spices.
Martin really is enjoying the pool. |
 |
 |
Some
of the food that could be eaten. No orange juice, just over sweetened
lukewarm tea. |
|
 |
Our first evening our, we went to a local
Chinese restaurant across the street.
This is a
classic Chinese way of eating. Very spicy. |
 |
 |
Here is the Martin and June with the owner's
Mom. Watch the video. A really sweet
lady that took good care of her customers. |
 |
 |
Martin went to the hospital for a urine test. Seen waiting. Very good
service at the hospital, Alliance
International Medical Centre.
It was a modern new hospital with a Canadian
doctor to boot. Nice. |
 |
 |
Then
off to Martin's favorite restaurant in Vientiane,
Yoree.
Excellent Korean food. |
 |
 |
June with a nice Korean we met, Max.
Martin is enjoying his beers, always. |
 |
 |
Max'
girlfriend, Martin, June and Max. In the end, Max paid the whole bill. Very
nice of him.
The pool is nice, 28 degrees in water and
air. Perfect swimming temperatures. |
 |

 |
Nice
pool at the hotel, some 30 meters long. Reception does not know.
No orange juice,
just lukewarm tea with a lot of sugar. Sugar sauce, not nice.
The food selection is miserable. Half
empty and half is inedible. |
 |
 |
The fruit selection is next to nothing half
ripe melons that is half dried up.
The soup selection. It was OK and not
over-spiced as the rest. |
 |
 |
Martin at the reception. They didn't speak
English and was unfriendly, condescending and directly arrogant.
A hotel NOT for Europeans. Cannot be
recommended. |
 |
 |
Martin at Sokedee hotel having buffalo wings
for dinner.
June and Martin in the unique mirrors of the
hotel. A rare occasion. |
 |
On day Oct 14th, it was time to return to 36Manor.
