Lai and Martin went to Nordlys
Bunader i Chiang Mai. They are situated outside Chiang Mai in Soi 10.
They have this on their
contact page:
Kontoret er åpent 08.00 til 17.00 lokal tid mandag til fredag.
Det betyr i praksis for våre
norske kunder en telefontid fra 06.00 til 12.00 norsk tid.
It is a Norwegian factory with Anna Klasson as
general managaer. She has problem with adding. 8+6 she manages to be 6
and not 14. Impressive. |
"Jag er inte sjuk, bara svensk." |
|
It was closed on Sunday, so we couldn't visit. This what used to be on their
webpage:
«Vi har alltid tid til besøk fra Norge, så dersom du er i
området på ferie, så er dere hjertelig velkommen til bedriftsbesøk hos oss.
Send gjerne en epost til oss i forkant.»
This she changed in an email to:
Jeg er ikke forpliktet til å ta imot gjester, det er en
tjeneste jeg kan tilby hvis det passer seg sånn.
Dette er en bedrift med ansatte som trenger arbeidsro, de er ikke en
turistattraksjon. Jeg har dessverre ikke tid til omvisninger denne uken.
Not much to see. |

Off to the shooting range in a
Tuc-Tuc after our "visit" to the Norwegian cloth factory.
The entrance of the shooting range. |
|
|
The sign for the range.
The range is nicely equipped, obviously kept by the army
They prices are rather stiff, THB 1700 for 30
rounds or US $ 55,-. Cheaper than in Cambodia. |
|
|
Rules you must have.
They have a practical gang practicing.
Not much changed since 1975
when Martin started to shoot. |
|
|
Weird. In Thailand, you are not
allowed to make your own ammo. The ammo you do get seems home made by
Norwegian standards. The shooting range is part
of 3rd Artillery Regiment stationed in Chiang Mai. |
|
|
Lai don't shoot but like to pose
with plastic guns. Why? It was nicely laid out
in a pleasant environment. |
|
|
A group of practical shooters
were training on one of the
sections of the range. Lai horsing around
outside the range. |
|
|
Our Tuc-Tuc.
Lai and Martin. It was a nice visit our last full day in Chiang Mai. |
|
|
Farewell for now.
Tuc-Tuc is a nice way to get around, cheaply and close to the ground.
Recommended. |
|
|
Street view from the
Tuc-Tuc. Extension of the bridge over the Ping
river. |
|
|
Road side view.
At our end station next to our hotel,
The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel. |
|
|
Martin at The Drunken
Bar.
Lai and Martin at the bar. |
|
|
Fancy dressed Chinese
woman in blue, white and green outfit outside the hotel.
Nice, fresh, healthy fruit is always available in Thailand. |
