Map of Thailand.

Summing it all up.

Thailand, Nov 30 - January 6th, 2010

There is a nice overview map of Thailand. It's worth a peep.

Martin T. to the left visited Bangkok (BKK), Pattaya and Oa Nang in Thailand this time. A long holiday during the depressing months of November and December.  Martin had pleasant and fascination trip to Thailand during in the period above.

Everybody talks about the weather. Have a look at BBC's weather for Bangkok, Thailand. Martin spent 9 days  in Bangkok, from Nov 30th to Dec 8th, then he went to Ao Nang and stayed there for 9 days, from Dec 9th to 18th. Landing in BKK on the 19th, he went straight to Pattaya and stayed there to the 27th and on the 28th, he went to Khon Kaen. The final leg was back in BKK on Jan 5th and stayed there till early Jan 7th, when he went back to Norway.

The pictures below and on the following pages,  are all thumbnails, meaning they are small copies of the real thing. You just click on the thumbnails, and you get the full picture in a separate window. And depending on your browser, it may be a little smaller to fit your screen size.

To the left, Krabi lies in the Southern most part of Thailand, to the East of Phuket that Martin had visited during March, September and December of 2008 and March/April 2009.

To the right, a detail map showing Ao Nang where Martin stayed this time next and December of 2008, March/April 2009 and December 2009..

This map shows details where Ao Nang is situated in relation to Bangkok, Krabi and Phuket.

This picture show the route in more details. It is 45 kms from the airport to Ao Nang where Martin stays at the Arcadian Villa.

Departure, Nov 29th 2009.

Late at night, Martin is waiting for the train to take him to nearby airport.

A typical Norwegian meal for NOK 180,- or € 23,-. Hardly worth it compared to the Thai prices. Goods in Thailand cost a third and food and drinks a fifth of Norwegian prices.

The newsstand inside the international departure area.

Magazines for Africa. They didn't have Martin's favorite computer magazines though.

After an hour's flight to Copenhagen, it was time to board an Airbus D300 airplane for Bangkok.

The next day, Monday November 30th, Martin landed in BKK (Bangkok) after almost 11 hours in the air with a stopover in Copenhagen to pick up some Danes. In the evening, it was time to meet Mook at the RoasaBieng Restaurant.
