Summing it all up.

Aud's pictures.

This was a day with a fascinating trip to Valetta and more dancing. Great.

To the left, we are queuing up to get onto the bus for our trip to the capital of Malta, Valettea.

To the right, some of the fascinating walls made original to fight off the Muslim shit form the East.

Another view of the fascinating wall structures made during the 16th century and was never used. Those that used them were the French in the beginning of the 18th century during the Napoleon wars. But the Britsh kicked their assholes in 1812.

We are walking to the streets of Valetta.

The narrow streets of Valetta are really fascinating.

The cross of the knights of Malta. They ruled the island for some 400 years.

The St. Johns cathedral was a fantastic piece of architecture. Some of the paintings are really rare. And beautiful. Martin was impressed of the painting of the capitation of John on the wall 5x6 meters. Very impressive.

The mosaic on the floor was impressive. You were not allowed to step on it, due to war and tear. Sensible.

In the cathedral, you had the standard wood carving of Jesus on the cross.

Martin and his favorite dancing partner, Aud. She really could move on the dancing floor. Most enjoyable company.

The parliament of Malta. Nice building.

More narrow streets. Really cute.

Some of the fortifications build to fight off the Turks and others. Very impressive.

Martin saying hello to the hero of Malta La Valetta. He saved the island from the marauding Muslims and killed some 8000 of them in the process. Some another 10 000 he enslaved and used them to flush the toilet for the Christians. Nice jobs for the Muslim crap of the time.

Then it was time for a film show that lasted for 45 minutes. Most impressive, taking you back 7000 years showing you the settlement and hardship Malta went trough. The latest was WWII and how they survived 3 years of continuous bombing by the Nazis. Impressive.

Martin in the audience. Roy, his buddy and dancing instructor took the pictures.

View of the Valetta main harbor.

Another view of the fortifications made some 300 years ago. It has stood its test of time. Even towards Nazi bombs.

Another view of the fascinating walls made. Roy wasn't to impressed how they took care of their electricacl cables. But then, he is an electrician.

More impressive views of the fortifications.

Just before having our lunch, Martin is posing in front of one of the narrow streets of Valetta.

A view of the gun embankment, made by the  British during their rule of the island.

A memorial put up by the British, remembering their dead ones from the Napoleon war, WWI and WWII. Very impressive.

Time for lunch. Our wonderful opplåsbare Barbara was very efficient and managed to fix us up with beers instead of wine. Lovely Swedish bra.

Instead of 8 glasses of wine, Martin and Roy got 4 glasses of beers. Great.

Jorunn from the West coast of Norway. She came along for the trip. She really didn't want to dance Fastings. And she was a drag to dance with.

Our entrance for the restaurant where we had our lunch. Five floors up.

We ate at the DeRobert's Roof Top Tear race Restaurant. It was crowded, but acceptable.

Back at the hotel, Martin in his favorite position, in bed with his computer and a beer, watching Sky News. Martin found an unsecured wireless network he used if the PC was high enough. Very enjoyable. Martin's favorite holiday. He had everything.

But the weather was not on the dancers side. Rainy, stormy winds lashing the island. Not nice.

After the dancing class, Martin was watching the line dance. Not his style.

But the instructor really was into it. Great fun to watch, but in the end, Martin and Roy had to participate without much success.

On the way back to the room, Martin met John in the pub where they showed the soccer match, Russia-England. Which Russia won 2-1. John was a group of 120 British airman for a reunion. Their ages varied from 25 to 95. Martin met one of the latter and asked him if his name was Van der Merwe, due to his South African accent. Great fun.

Aud, Martin's favorite dancing partner. She's a great dancer.

Martin and Aud is a good couple on the dancing floor. Aud being less than Martin's age, is fit and a tremendous dancer.

Martin and Aud at it again. Martin lacks some 30 years to keep up. But it's great fun in any case.

Martin enjoys it with Aud. She knows how to wear a man out.

Birgit is more easy going. A good pupil and don't mind being lectured at. Great girl.

Birgit is great fun.

Martin enjoys it with Birgit.
