Summing it all up.

Martin T. (to the right) had pleasant quick trip to Cyprus in the period above. Martin has his party hat on. A trusted companion on many trips. The trip cost some US $ 340. Not bad for a week with transport and hotel room.

Above, you have a map that show Cyprus.Martin landed at Larmaca and drove some 45 minutes to Agia Napa where he stayed.
The weather at Cyprus.

Weather Overview

The Cypriot climate is typically Mediterranean, with very hot summers in July and August. Inland temperatures can soar over 40°C but refreshing respite can be found at higher altitudes and along the coasts. Cyprus can suffer drought years and summers are usually cloudless and almost always completely dry. Winters are usually moderately wet with temperatures averaging between 5°C and 15°C.

Departure May 14th.

To the left, May 14th was a rainy day. Martin's stoep was all wet and soggy. Nice day to leave for Cyprus.

To the right, Martin outside his entrance flowers. Looks like snow. Martin doesn't know the name of the bush.

Happy Martin looking forward to the trip. His trusty leather jacket is cute.

Waiting for snow. Martin's rotating snow plough is ready to go. After it's fixed. Needs some extra parts.

Martin's rubbish compacter. The rubbish bin is always too small. This one compacts rubbish making room for more. Martin's design.

Happy with his beer bag. Martin is ready to go.

The weather was miserably on the road to the airport. When there, the plane was delayed for 9 hours so Martin went back home. Costs another package of smoking tobacco. But then the web site got updated. Not bad.

Departure May 14th, second try.

Then, after another 7 hours with a nice dinner and  nap, JAP, Martin's trusted lodger for 11 years, was ready to have another go at the airport. This time Martin checked the Internet and the plane was due to leave 2330.

The rain still pouring down on the way to the airport.

Some of these peoples had waited for up to 9 hours to get on to the plane, stuck in London with technical problems to fix.

At last time to board and we left at 0020, 9 hrs and 10 minutes after scheduled departure time. It was 4 hours and 25 minutes flight to Cyprus.

The next day, May 15th, Martin settled in, went for the orientation meeting and had a nap or two after hardly any sleep at the plane.
