Welcome to

At a new breakfast joint.

Martin had steak with all the trimmings. Very tasty.

Our new breakfast joint. Just for today.

Back to the lobby, waiting for the taxi to take us to the airport.

June love her teddy bear.

The reception area. There are only 2 mill Christians in Vietnam of a total population of 100. But the Vietnamese don't care. They just want to celebrate anything.

The flight to Dien Bien Phu took 1:10. Short and sweet.

Haggling over virus papers.

Through security and waiting to take off.

Landed and a person in full protective gear. Must be working because the plastic is hot as hell.

June is disembarking.

Welcome to Dien Bien Phu.

Properly dressed airport workers.

Plane landed and checked.

The plane is being emptied.

June landed.

Martin had a car waiting for him.

Our hotel, Muong Thanh Grand Dien Bien Phu Hotel. The best in the area.

Impressive entrance.

Impressive pool, 27 meters long.

Martin took the temperature, 190 Centigrade. Too cold for a swim.

It is nicely laid out.

Pity it is too cold to swim in. Martin loves swimming.

The bar next to the pool.

Then off to a local barbeque restaurant next to the street. Very cosy.

They had a unique design of the grill itself. Very effective and user friendly.

They got Martin's favorite beer, HANOI. Best in Vietnam.

Bean sprouts with bacon. One of Martin's favorite.

The garlic bread had no garlic, but plenty butter and sugar. Lovely, but very unhealthy.

Here is our friendly waiter.

The meat was very tasty with the right kind of sauce that Martin could eat.

We left 2 Pomelo or Buoi in Vietnamese at the reception. When we came back, they were nicely cut up. Nice service.

On Wednesday December 15th, it was time to sightsee Dien Bien Phu.
