Summing it all up.

We docked at New Orleans on time and after endless queues, we finally came through customs and onto our busses.

To the left, the street of New Orleans as seen from the sight-seeing bus.

To the right, colorful buildings are one of the hallmarks of the buildings in New Orleans.

The cast-iron verandas are from the 18th century, basically build by the French when they ruled the area.

Jean d'Arcy, also a leftover from the French.

Cemeteries above the ground is common. Just for the rich ones, though.

Martin is resting his sciatic nerve at one of the monuments.

It was chill in the air, but the sun was nice. Martin still resting.

E. T. Beauregard, the clown that fired the first shots in the civil war.

Martin and Wenche in one of the nice parks where we stopped.

A close-up of Wenche and Martin on the bridges in the park.

A pigeonry or dovecote in the park. Kind of cool.

The bearded tree. Funny looking one.

Then all the 151 travelers wanted something to eat. Again, standing in line is nothing new to this crowd.

An area of New Orleans for the weatly.

A private museum in the town.

Martin loves high-ways.

After entering the hotel and checking in on the 15th floor, time for looking around. Here is a demonstration of sort.

View of downtown New Orleans. A crisp, clear day.

Roy with New Orleans in the background.

Ditto Martin.

The demonstrators are still marching. For what is unclear.

In the evening, we went onto a paddle ship on the Mississippi. Here is Bente and Roy settled at the dining table.

Martin having a Southern Comfort before the dinner. Martin's favorite drink in the USA.

The dining table on the boat.

Another view of the dining hall.

Dark pictures of the peddles of the ship. They worked.

More peddles coming up. They were fascinating.

The well stocked bar on the boat.

Down into the engine room. Fascinating.

Details of how a steam engine works.

More details of the engine.

The details of the engine.

Amazing mechanisms some 200 years old. Not bad.

Martin ready to have some real Rock'n Roll dancing.

Martin and Astrid in action on the dancing floor.

Martin really enjoy it.

The bassist. A caring father having his son on the boat.

Martin and the crew an departure.

Back to the Hotel, the smokers are lined up before they go into the hotel.

Martin and friends having a night cap before going to bed.

Bente and Svein at the bar.

Martin and the local doll in the reception of the hotel.

The next day, Sunday Nov 16th, Martin flew back to Newark to stay overnight before going to visit and old friend, Bjørg.
