Summing it all up.

We arrived at Khlong Lan, but we couldn't stay next to the pool because the road was impassable due to heavy rain.

To the left, the fields behind The Lima Hotel.

The Lima Hotel, not among the greatest, but at a reasonable price, it was OK.

Kran reading tourist folders before breakfast. In the background, the hotel Buddha is watching over things.

The hotel Buddha. Every hotels and institutions have one.

Thai omelets are filled with a lot of stuff and very tasty for a Westerner.

Martin's lone PC on a table with other PCs.

A pig head as an offering to Buddha at a local shop.

The crook at Ayutthaya the took us for a ride at 500 instead of 200 baths.

A whole school was sight-seeing too.

One of the cheerful Thai girl classes on the busses.

Some interviewed Martin as one of the foreigners there on the complex.

The old ruins were very nicely maintained and looked after. It was established as a national park in 1957.

One of the many buildings on the grounds.

The Buddhas were added at a later stage.

Martin among one of the many ruins.

The brick work is rather impressive.

Lianas hanging from the trees are cute.

They paint concrete structures to look like wooden structures. A nice touch.

Kran and one of the local elephants.

Martin having a refreshing coconut milk drink from bamboo cups.

The old Ayutthaya behind the wall.

The palm trees from where the coconut milk came from.

Kran and the bamboo cups.

They get most of the fat out of the barbequed sausages before consumption.

Tall rejuvenated towers.

Thais are praying a lot to their Buddha.

Kran in prayer.

She took this very serious and she had been here once before as a 9 years old girl with her uncle.

Kran behind one of the many Buddha figures on the complex.

The candles being recirculated since they collect the molten wax from the lights.

Martin had a leak at the very nice, clean pissoirs of the complex.

A nice set of canals crisscrossed the area.

One of the old warriors of the old empire that vanished in 1752.

Kran praying again among other Thais.

Martin and Kran in front of a big chicken. The old king was very much in favor of chicken fights and a chicken was his symbol.

Off on the road again and filling up gas before going to Khlong Lan.

The house across the road from Kran's Mom.

In the evening, a Korean barbeque was in order.

Nice hot fire is prepared.

She puts the pot on top of the hot charcoals.

Kran and her daughter, Pawika.

Martin showing the finishing pot.

The last bit of nice soup is consumed.

Kran, Pawika and Martin which is enjoying the last of the meal by picking his teeth.

Kran saying goodbye to Pawika.

The next day, Thursday August 4th, it was time for a relaxing, lazy day at the Orathai and Kamphaeng Phet, a not so nice hotel with no pool.
