Summing it all up.

Dec 6 - Pawika's birthday
The pictures below are thumbnails, meaning they are small copies of the real thing. You just click them. The weather in Norway and in Bangkok just now.

In Kamphaeng Phet, Kran, Pawika and Martin had a lovely day with swimming, computers and we went off to Khlong Lan, Pawika's home.

To the left, the lovely breakfast served by Entrepreneur Teera Tachayapong and the owner of Scenic RiverSide Resort. There is an article of March 25th 2010 in Bangkok Post about Teera. Read it, it is very enlightening.

Teera has put up his Christmas decoration already. A little bit out of place, Martin thinks.

The birthday child, Pawika on her way to her Grandma SongWaa's house in Khlong Lan.

The rice fields outside Khlong Lan where the Orathai Resort at Khlong Lan where Kran and Martin will stay.

Lokal Orathai boy giving us directions how to get to the resort proper.

This is not part of the resort and too small for Martin.

The pool is very nice and 20 meters long.

The bar area is also nice with locally produced furniture. The owner Guy, also makes garden furniture for sale.

A giraffe in the playground for the children.

The rice fields in front of the resort. The resort itself is on top of a hill overlooking the fields below.

One of the hut with its distinct V-shaped roof.

The rooms are Spartan, but you hare not planning to spend much time in the room in any case.

Kran and Martin in the entrance

There is a tent option as well. At 250 baths or € 6,25 it is cheap.

Another view of the rice fields below.

A cluster of the huts on the hill top.

The kitchen facilities are meager, but you can cook and Kran and Martin will with the help of the maid.

The view from the bar is actually quite good.

The all-in-one maid that doubles up as a cleaning lady, bar lady and cook.

An overview of the pool.

The main entrance of the Orathai Resort.

The beauty saloon of Guy, the owner and manager of The Orathai Resort.

Guy herself.

Her garden furniture she sells to anyone wanting them.

Grandma SongWaa's shop in Khlong Lan.

Nee, Kran's sister with Pawika.

Grandma in action in her modest kitchen.

A room full of junk is used for Grandma to take a nap during the day.

Pawika in the shop. She works here often.

There are very few men around so the urinal is used for storage.

Kran and Martin fooling around in SongWaa's shop.

As most people, Grandma hates making dishes and it shows.

Nee, Kran's sister with Pawika and the calendar Martin gave her.

On the way back, time for a beer stop.

There is an university in Kamphaeng Phet. The main entrance seen here.

Time for fires. Martin loves them.

Ton, a friendly bottle store owner with good English.

Monkut Phasuk otherwise known as Mr. Good with his self portrait.

The family restaurant of Mr. Good.

Lamom and her sister. They are daughters of Tax.

Fires again that Martin loves.

In the evening, time for some relaxing massage.

Ready to go.

Kran has just started at her massage.

The next day, Tuesday December 7th, it was off to River Kwai in Kanchanaburi some 440 kms to the Sout-West.
