Map of Thailand.

Summing it all up.

The hotel:
The Centara Kata hotel is one of the best I've visited during all my travels around the world. The reasons are as follows:

  1. A Scandinavian manger that know how to adapt rigid rules in a sensible way. And he is Swedish with the name of Martin as well. A smiling, pleasant person that has a friendly word for everybody.

  2. Swimming pool 15 meters from the bed. No reason not to swim the necessary 2000 meters a day.

  3.

The usual friendly smiles of the staff. Thailand really is the land of smiles. My favorite is Tu.

She is typical friendly Thai, but in addition a freshness and audacity that most staff don't have. Martin recommended her for the the Staff of the Month award.

The country:
Thailand is a perfect holiday destination. Hot and blue skies. A little bit on the hot side in March. The country is well organized, cleaner than India and a well developed Internet infrastructure that usually works pretty well. In September, it is cloudy and raining a lot.

The people:
What makes a trip in addition to the country is the people. And the people of Thailand is very friendly and forthcoming. The tourist commercials are right on that point. The Land of Smiles. And it's true.

Thailand is a place really worth visiting.
