night as the Frenchmen would put it. This is the last glimpse of the sun before it settles at the longest day of the year, June 21st, not 6th. |

On July 16th, Martin busy on the veranda with
casting lead bullets for his guns. The lead pot with lead sticking out can
be seen to his right. Around the neck, Martin has a kettle for picking
cherries that are ripe. The roses next to the veranda are in full bloom this time of the year. |
