Aug 7, off to Hong Kong and Norway
The pictures below are thumbnails, meaning they are small copies of the real thing. You just click them. The weather in Norway and in Bangkok just now.

A nice, sad day for Martin. Leaving Kran was no pleasure. From the time Martin left River Kwai and till he came back to his house in Norway, it took 36 hours. Quite a trip with delayed plane in Helsinki, Finland and delayed trains in Norway.

To the left, a local garden girl cleaning the area to make it Spink and spank for the guests.

This Saturday morning, The Royal River Kwai Restort had a locol muscian performing. Listen to the music.

Martin and the maid that kept our room clean. Martin tipped her handsomely.

On route to the airport, we bypassed Bangkok to the South and here is one of the fancy bridges on the high-ways. Norway cannot afford to build highways because we are so filthy rich. Figure that one out. Thailand is a 3rd world country and can.

Another fancy road bridge in the same style.

The skyline of downtown Bangkok. It looks impressive on a distance.

A big elephant along the road.

The electrical grid outside Bangkok is impressive.

Construction details at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The name Suvarnabhumi was chosen by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej which means "The Golden Land", specifically referring to the continental Indochina. "Golden Peninsula"or "Golden Land" is a traditional name for the Thailand-Cambodia-Laos-Burma region

Martin and the Big Buddha in the department hall.

The Japanese restaurant where Kran and Martin had their farewell dinner.

At the Fortune Corner.

Kran can eat Thai spicy food, but the beetroot dressing on raw salmon was too much.

The construction details of the airport.

Martin having his last drink, a Pinacolada in a coconut. Nice.

The friendly waiter making a joke with Kran.

Then off to Hong-Kong. This smoked salmon from Norway had a Norwegian price tag attached to it. € 40,- with a beer. Bloody expensive. Martin tried to pay with his Euros, but they were nicked by Cat on July 22nd.

The next day, Sunday 8th, it was time to return to Norway and the miserable work situation.
