Summing it all up.

This day turned out to be quite fascinating, not as Martin expected.

To the left, the original plate telling you who donated the money of The House of Kathleen and why. Nice touch.

To the right, Martin's two foster girls, Rupa and Anita with their Sunday gifts. A towel each as wanted by the management of Kathleen House.

Kids are kids. A lot of them playing in the main room of the building.

Back from the kids, a nice view over the hilltop before descending down to the sea.

Some nice rock outcrops with some greenery to boot.

Jan 6th was a Sunday. Nothing barring people to work even on this day.

The typical red rock of Goa used in building constructions. May not last too long, but for some 20 years, perhaps.

Luxury condos coming up all over the place. In some 10 years time, Goa will have lost it unique character and become another tourist resort. Shame.

Back at Suren's village, this is the village elderly's house. The nicest of the lot.

Suren giving his son some chocolate. Not good for the boy.

Suren and his son Suyjsh. Meaning the Son of Hope.

Shacks in Suren's village.

Suren's kitchen, main view.

His cutlery store in the kitchen.

Suyjsh and his Mom Sunita.

Suyjsh trying out his Dad's new cap.

Suren's main bedroom.

Sharing it with his son Suyjsh in the corner.

The living room.

Suren didn't have much to offer, but he had coco nuts. Here he is pouring the juice for Martin. Very tasty and very clean.

The finished product of one big coconut. A glass of juice and coconut meat. Tasty and clean.

Martin and Suren in their new caps.

The caps do have their names on. But they were made for Indian heads. Not for bigheaded guys like Martin from Norway.

Suyjsh with his new bike. His Mom wanted this photo taken.

The Suren family. Suren's full name is
  Surendra S. Salgaonkar
  Danda Navenbhatt
  Siolim Bardez
  Goa

Another photo of Suren's family.

Martin also wants to join the picture.

The area of Suren's village. Some 120 people lives here.

Suyjsh saying goodbye to his father that has to take Martin off to work.

The Buddhist symbol

The peace symbol misused by the Nazis in the 30ties and onwards to 1945 when Nazism was crushed for god.

Antonio's paradise. Martin is considering renting a beach shack for April 2008. To be a beach bum for at least a couple of days, maybe a week.

The new rich Russians are everywhere. Even in Goa. This flag is flying over a new construction site next to The Golden Eye shacks.

The new standards of the shacks at Golden Eye. Another option for Martin for beach bumming.

The living quarters from the outside.

Some resemblance of fiords with rocks in the sea.

Ever-present shirts hanging on a shack window.

Martin and his socked beer to keep it cold.

Sumita, same name as Suren's wife at the road side selling calendars.

Almost back home. This sign tells Martin his hotel is just around the corner.

Mali, a Norwegian, has been in Goa since 1994. Goa grows on you and I agree.

Fake originals? What a contradiction of terms.

King fish ready to be served. One of the most common fishes in Goa.

The restaurant store room for vegetables. Hope they wash it before using it.

Martin's favorite drink in Goa. Old Monk black rum. Have a taste of chocolate liqueur. Dangerously nice. And at a price of less than € 2,- a bottle? You can get drunk on less.

The next day, Monday January 7th, it was time for the final visit to the dentist.
