I wet, chilly day at Oslo airport. Martin had
breakfast at some NOK 200,- or US $ 35,-. Bloody expensive for a sandwich, a
bottle of water and a orange juice. |
Martin's plane. It is environmentally friendly,
or so they say. They are sorting trash. |
Martin's booze buy on the plane.
You order it before departure and is put on your seat for you to collect.
We arrived at Chania airport on the North-West on the island. See
map. |
The bus taking us to our hotel, the
Blue
Star Ibiscos Garden. This is the fourth May in a row, Martin has been
here. The biggest deep water port on Crete. |
The financial situation is shown in
all the empty building. Lacking maintenance is
obvious. |
Another vacant building for rent or
sale. Also a lot of half finished buildings all over the island.
Martin's room is nice. With all the amenities you need. |
The podium where we have all the
announcement are med. The
parade starts. |
The pool holds 24 degrees. Not too
bad, but good enough. Have a quick
look. Martin bought some fruit for his
fridge. Nice, local produce. |
Martin's supermarket across from
the street from his favorite restaurant. Martin
is enjoying a local beer with his meal, a Mythos. |
Randi, a lovely, happy
woman that spends half the year in Thailand. Martin met her at the 3 Roses
bar, a Norwegian bar in Jomtien where they both stay. Randi and Martin
had a dance on the dancing floor as well.
Then the parade ended and some
have line dancing that ends up in the pool. |
One of the parade
participants with his face paint on. The Norwegian flag. |
