Martin has been in Saigon before.

For bigger map, cllick the map over the Mekong trip.
This trip was organized by LUXURY TRAVEL AGENCY VIETNAM. Tim was his name.

Saigon City, a city with very well controlled traffic.

We stayed at The Liberty Central Hotel for one night.

Lai and Martin with a selfie before going to the pool.

The saltwater pool at Ambassador is always tempting and lovely to swim in.

Martin swim ready with the hotels next door.

Lai is also ready for a swim.

Leaving our trusted room at The Ambassador. Lovely place.

Martin waiting for Suza.

Suza and his car has arrived.

They are building a new Sky Train line to Don Muang airport used for Sout-East Asian flights and domestic flights.

The Sky Train will be ready in 1919.

Terminal 1 is for international flights.

Saying good bye to Suza at the airport.

Queuing up to check in. Martin had troubles with his air gun pellets at the security gate. They were confiscated. Incompetent staff. It went through check in Oslo, at the main airport in Bangkok, but not here at Don Muang.

Finally through the security control.

Our plane taking us to Saigon.

It is an Airbus 300, nice plane.

We were boarding in the heat.

Lai in the long queue for passport control. Commies are not good at this.

The American woman in front of Lai, is of Vietnamese decent.

The parking lot outside the airport. A lot of hassle with the taxi drivers.

Lai with one, not so friendly one.

Martin at the pool on top of the Liberty Central Saigon Centre Hotel.

This is a bird eye's view of the pool. Not long though. Claimed to be 15 meters. Martin doesn't believe that.

Martin at the pool side.

Saigon City roundabout in the middle of town centre.

Saigon sky line by night.

Saigon by night is a nice view.

Pool details in mm. Martin don't believe these figures.

Time for some dog food.

Standard set-up with a rice cake.

Lai with the cake.

Typical street of Saigon.

Martin and Lai with Martin's favorite, dog stew. Tasted like beef. Lai didn't like it.

The lady that sold us quall eggs.

The chef cutting up dog sausages.

Lai wanted some chicken soup as a night cap.

Nine floors down is a long fall.

On Saturday September 2nd, it was time for to depart for Cai Be. For where, see the map over the Mekong trip.
